Homemade Films is an Athens-based film production and distribution company, founded in 2009 by Maria Drandaki. It has since produced and co-produced several successful short and feature films, with a taste for sharp, cutting-edge, innovative cinema. The company’s films participated and got awarded in several international film festivals and film events (Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, Toronto, Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary, IDFA, Palm Springs, EFA, BAFTA, etc.), and they got distributed in movie theaters and TV channels around the world.
The company’s aim is to continue producing selected films by talented directors, which can be co-developed and co-produced with European and international partners and can find their audience equally inside and outside Greece, based on traditional as well as innovative production and distribution strategies. Homemade Films offers film services in Greece collaborating on a regular basis with various producers for projects from all around the world. In 2022, the company was granted support from the Creative Europe – Media Slate Funding for its upcoming film projects.
Homemade Films is a member of the EAVE and ACE producers‘ networks and the Greek Producers Alliance.
