GOLDEN ALEXANDER FOR SOFIA EXARCHOU’S ANIMAL

Sofia Exarchou’s ANIMAL was the big winner of the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, winning the Golden Alexander – Theo Angelopoulos, the Best Film award of the International Competition!

Marking the importance of the win, the International Competition Jury (producer Diana Elbaum, journalist and former head of the Berlinale Dieter Kosslick, and producer-director Elina Psykou), mentioned that it’s the first time in 30 years that a Greek film wins the prestigious award of the biggest national film festival.

ANIMAL also won two more awards: the International Competition Best Actress Award for Dimitra Vlagopoulou’s performance, and in the side juries awards, the Crew United Award.
